A literary hero is an image of a person or an animal in fiction . Also in this sense, the concepts of “character” and “ character ” are used. Often, literary heroes are called only the more important characters (characters).
Literary heroes are usually divided into positive and negative, but such a division is very arbitrary. There are, in particular, antiheroes combining the traits of both positive and negative characters.
Often in the literature there was a process of formalizing the character of the heroes, when they turned into the "type" of some vice, passion, etc. The creation of such “types” was especially characteristic of classicism , while the image of a person played an official role in relation to a certain dignity, lack, and inclination.
A special place in the series of literary heroes is occupied by genuine persons introduced into a fictional context - for example, historical characters of novels.
