The following is a chronology of the city of Samarkand , Uzbekistan .
Early History (BC)
- VIII century BC - the foundation of the ancient settlement Afrasiab [1] .
- 329 BC - the city was plundered by Alexander the Great [2] .
- 250-130 BC as part of Greco-Bactria
- 350-420gg. as a part of the states of chionites and kidarites
- 420-563 years as part of the state of Ephthalites
- 712 - the city was captured by the governor of Khorasan Kuteiba ibn Muslim and became part of the Arab Caliphate [3] [4] .
- 751 year - paper production began [5] .
- 806 - rebellion led by Rafi ibn Leys [6] .
- 819 - the beginning of Samanid rule in Samarkand. The ruler was appointed Nuh ibn Asad [7] .
- 842 - after the death of Nukh ibn Assad, the brothers Nukha, Yahya ibn Asad and Ahmad ibn Asad become rulers of Samarkand [8] .
- 864 - after the death of Ahmad ibn al-Assad , his son Nasr I becomes ruler [9] .
