History
Until 2015, the canton included the communes of Bodilis , Gimillo , Lampol-Gimillo , Landivisio , Plugourvest , Pluneventer , Saint-Derien and Saint-Servé .
As a result of the 2015 reform [1], the composition of the canton was changed. It included all the communes of the canton of Sisyon and the individual communes of the cantons of Pludiri, Pluzeveda, Pluescat and Tole.
Starting January 1, 2017, the Lok Eginek commune moved from Brest County to Morlaix County, after which the canton became fully part of Morlaix County.

Policy
In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast in the 1st round to Emmanuel Macron 27.7% of the vote against 20.1% of Francois Fillon , 17.0% of Jean-Luc Melanson and 16.9% of Marine Le Pen ; in the 2nd round, Macron won the canton, receiving 72.8% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Francois Hollande - 30.4%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 27.0%, Francois Bayreux - 13.5%; 2nd round: Hollande - 53.3%).
Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Finister Department by the former vice-mayor of the city of Landivisio, Elisabeth Guillerm, and the mayor of the city of Lampol-Gimillo, Jean-Marc Puchois (both are different right-wingers ).
