West is the Vnutgorodsky district of Shu . The area got its name from the location. The west is in the south-west of the city (from here the name). It is the third largest district in the city. In Soviet times, a military training ground operated in the West, after which it was dismantled. Now the district from the side of Seifulin Street continues to be built up: infrastructure buildings are being built, abandoned houses are being restored, sports and playgrounds are being created.
History
After Shu acquired the status of an urban-type settlement, the construction of the district begins as part of the working village. Satpayev Street begins to be built up. The first residential buildings are being built along the street (private sector). The first constructed streets from the side of Satpayev get their names (Zhambyl, Zheltoksan, Tuyebekova, Postal). The whole area is built up with one-story houses. A private sector is also being built along Seifulin Street. Soon, the boundaries of the district are created and determined (from Satpayev and Shakirov streets, and to the western border of the city). On Shakirova street, several five-story houses ( Khrushchevka ) are being built. Five-story buildings on both sides were also built along the highway (Seifulin Street) closer to Shakirov. After the area was built: a school to them. Tole bi, lyceum, kindergarten. Previously, a military training ground operated in the area. Also, a military camp was built at the training ground. Five-story panel houses were designed for the military and their families. With the collapse of the USSR, the landfill was disbanded, and the houses remained abandoned. Today they are not going to restore the military base. Abandoned houses will be restored to the place of the base.
Modernity
Now in the area construction and restoration is ongoing. New objects are being built and appear: sports and educational institutions, cultural and public buildings, infrastructure buildings. Large and beautiful restaurants open. Now tourism is developing in the area as in the whole city. Cultural buildings are being created, mainly monuments.

Despite the fact that there is no work in the area, the population is still here. Today, people from the district, as well as from the whole city, are recruited whose professions are associated with construction. Not far from the West is the CHP .
Culture and Education
Now they work in the area: school named after Tole bi, Lyceum "Silk Road", kindergarten, hospital. On the street Seifulina was built a modern sports complex "Tarlan".
At the end of Seifulin and Satpayev Streets, a monument to the L-3793 steam locomotive was erected. Behind the steam locomotive there is a park fenced with fences, in the shape of a circle, with lanterns, benches, blooming grass lawns, stone paths and a fountain in the center.
A monument to Garden Shakirov was erected on Shakirov Street over the years of his life.
