The Midnight is an American synthwave band formed in Atlanta by vocalist Jamison Tyler Lyle and producer, composer and singer Tim Daniel McEwan [2] .

The group was formed as a result of a meeting between Tyler and Tim during a joint songwriting workshop in North Hollywood (2012) [3] [4] . Inspired by the soundtrack of the movie Drive and the retrowave genre that stands out in their work, the couple wrote two singles WeMoveForward and Gloria, which will be released two years later as part of their debut EP Days of Thunder [5] . In 2016, the duo released 12 tracks on the full-length Endless Summer CD [6] , the next year they released another album, Nocturnal [7] , which spent several weeks as a bestseller on the Bandcamp website and reached 17th place on the Billboard dance / electronic chart in October 2017 [8] . In November 2017, the group performed a full house concert at the Los Angeles venue Globe Theater [9] . The duo repeatedly collaborated with Timecop1983, and other producers of the retrowave genre. One such collaboration is featured on Nocturnal's album, entitled "River of Darkness." Another collaboration of these musicians was included in the album Night Drive , Timecop1983 itself, under the name "Static".
