Corbale (county)

County Corbeil ( Comté de Corbeil ) - feudal possession in France in the X-XII centuries, located southwest of Paris.

At the beginning of the XII century it was attached to the royal domain.

Mauger, Earl of Corbeil

Rulers:

  • Hamon (Amon), the first Earl of Corbeil, is mentioned in the document of the 2nd half of the X century without indicating the year. His son Thibault was abbot of the monastery of Saint Pierre de Melen;
  • Albert (Obert), brother and possible co-ruler of Hamon;
  • Bouchard I de Vendome (d. 1007). Count of Vendome and Corbeil, the second husband of Elizabeth - the widows of Hamon;
  • Germaine, daughter of Albert (Obert). She married Mauger of Normandy (d. 1033/40), son of the Duke Richard the Fearless .
  • Mauger Norman (d. 1033/40), Germain's husband, Earl of Corbeil for the rights of his wife;
  • Guillaume Guerlain (d. 1067), son of Mauger and Germain;
  • Bouchard II (died in battle 1071/80), grandson of Guillaume, son of Renault de Corbeil;
  • Ed (d. 1112), son of Bouchard II.

Ed II was childless, and in 1100 appointed his sister Adelaide, widow of the deceased in 1099, Erara III de Puise, Viscount Chartres. However, she soon became a nun in Marsigny.

In 1112, after the death of Ed II, Earl of Corbeil declared himself Hugo III de Puise (d. 1132), Viscount Chartres, son of Adelaide. But after some time, King Louis VI confiscated the county and added it to the royal domain.
