Biography
Born in Old Sombor (Ukrainian SSR) in a mining family.
In 1969 he graduated from the Odessa Conservatory named after A. V. Nezhdanova (orchestra faculty), in 1978 he completed an assistant internship at the Gnesins State Music and Pedagogical Institute (class of professor V. V. Khomenko) [1] .
Since 1972 - lecturer at the Department of String Instruments at the Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory [1] .
Activities
Concerts
Arranges solo and ensemble concerts. Many musical works from the double-bass repertoire were heard in Novosibirsk thanks to Boldin [1] .
Teaching activities
Due to the impeccable intonation, the fineness of the elements, the freedom of playing movements and the performing apparatus, the music teacher manages to develop high professionalism in his students. The musicians who studied with Boldin work in the orchestras of Novosibirsk, in Moscow and other cities and countries: in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, and Israel [1] .
Bow Instrument Making
In addition to concert and pedagogical activities, he produces musical instruments: violins, violas, ancient instrument viol d'amur , etc. [2] . Passion for creating tools with Valery Boldin appeared in the school years [3] :
While studying, a friend once brought me a completely broken instrument. He says: try it! And I myself have long wanted to look at what's inside, how everything works. And so it all started. I carefully disassembled the tool and glued it. Of course, nothing good happened. But the "disease" has gone further.

For creating the violin of Terpsichore, he became the laureate of the V All-Union Competition in Moscow (1982). He also became a laureate at the I international competition in Bulgaria (1983) and the VII international competition in Poland (1984) [1] .
