Geography

The village is located in the southwestern part of the Samara region, in the forest-steppe zone ^[2] , on the banks of the Ekaterinovskaya Volozhka Volga River , at a distance of about 19 kilometers (in a straight line) to the northwest of the urban-type settlement Bezenchuk , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 34 meters above sea level ^[3] .

Climate

The climate is characterized as moderately continental arid, with hot, dry summers and cold, little snowy winters. The average annual rainfall is 363 mm. The average temperature in January is −13.4 ° С, in July - +21.4 ° С ^[4] .

History

In the 1868 List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire (according to 1859), the settlement is mentioned as a specific village of Samara Uyezd (1st camp) on the Volozhka River. In the village, there were 248 yards and 2210 people lived (1025 men and 1185 women). There was an Orthodox church ^[6] .
