Biography

The future champion was introduced to the sport by his older brother. At eight, Yodsanklay held his first fight. He brought him 250 baht . He won the first belt of Lumphini Stadium in 2001 - at the age of 16. Later repeated success in 2005.

World fame came to Jodsanklai in 2008 after appearing in the TV series "Asian Pretend" ( Eng. The Contender Asia ). According to the scenario, 16 fighters from around the world competed with each other according to the rules of Nok Muay, an ancient Thai martial art that preceded modern Muay Thai. Yodsanklay defeated all rivals, including his teammate Nareupol. In the final, the Thai defeated John Wayne Parr and took the prize of $ 150,000. This fee is considered the largest in the history of the sport. At the award, the winner promised to spend the prize on the purchase of his mother’s house. This act exalted and humanized his image, and he became an example to follow. According to Jodsanklai himself, this victory is the most valuable in his piggy bank. After participating in the show, there were numerous victories at major world competitions. One of the memorable moments in the career of a fighter was an episode when in 2010 the country sent him to win the King’s Cup of Thailand , which a year earlier was won for the first time in history by a foreigner. Cosmo Alexander, the only farang at that time (translated from Thai as “foreigner”) received this title. Yodsanklay coped with the task, defeating the Brazilian fighter in the final [6] . Many experts in the world of martial arts consider working with the feet of Yodsaklai one of the most powerful among the fighter-shockers. In 2012, the battle with his participation was recognized as the fight of the year in the world according to the rules of Muay Thai [7] .

Since 2005, lives and trains in Pattaya in the hall of the Fairtex team. The second part of the sports pseudonym in Thai tradition is inherited by the fighter from the name of the team. Sometimes an athlete chooses to train in China, where he promotes Thai boxing.

In 2017, Yodsanklai announced his retirement, but in 2018 he returned to play in One in a battle against Enrico Kael. Since then, he received an additional prefix to his sports pseudonym - IWE. The abbreviation corresponds to the name of the Chinese hall in which Iodsailai IWE Firetex trains [5] [4] .
