This name was originally given to the A917CB facility, discovered on February 13, 1917 by Max Wolf . On December 7, 1926, Carl Reinmouth discovered the 1926 XB, which was given the name (1078) of the Cop . In 1958, it was discovered that this is the same object. In 1974, it was decided to keep the name (1078) of the Ment for this object and to reuse the name and number (864) of Aac for the 1921 KE object, discovered on September 30, 1921 by Karl Reynmut.
