The Master Plan for the Development of Yekaterinburg is a comprehensive plan for the development of housing and utilities, transport , production , office management and education in Yekaterinburg over the coming decades.
History
The first work on the general plan began in the XVIII century , however, formal developments are associated with the name of M.P. Malakhov (early XIX century ). In 1845, the first master plan for the development of the city was adopted, which managed to reconcile classical schemes with the Ural landscape . This plan was fully implemented only at the beginning of the 20th century .
In 1925, in connection with a substantial expansion of the city, the creation of the Soviet general plan was announced under the leadership of N. A. Boyno-Radzevich. In his proposals there were many valuable ideas related to the western and eastern areas of development, urban landscaping , etc. In 1930, Boyno-Radzevich and S. V. Dombrovsky (an architect of a number of buildings in the city center) presented a new urban planning concept, suggesting Sverdlovsk as a chain of loosely connected workers' villages . In 1931, it was taken as the basis for work on a new master plan drawn up in 1933. However, funding for the project soon ceased. In 1936, Dombrowski and Boyno-Radzevich tried to publish a plan, but their ideas were finally rejected.
In 1938-1939 a new plan was drawn up (developer V.P. Yakovlev), which assumed compact development, but it was not implemented in connection with the war . In 1947, P.V. Oransky (one of the designers of the Uralmash microdistrict) developed the ideas of Yakovlev, but his plan was also not adopted. During the years of the “ thaw ” and at the beginning of the “stagnation”, many master plan projects appeared, both traditional and extravagant. Only in 1972 was a comprehensive master plan drawn up by K. A. Uzkykh adopted.
This general plan turned out to be much less durable than its predecessor in 1845. Already at the beginning of the 21st century. The city administration created the “Master Plan Workshop”. The Ural State Academy of Architecture and Art , the Glavarchitecture, the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a number of other institutions took part in the design of the project, and the experience of foreign architects was drawn. The new plan is part of the Strategic Plan for the Development of the City, which includes not only architectural, but also social, economic, environmental and other factors. The general plan regulates both the actions of city and regional authorities, and development with the involvement of private investment. It involves the approval of Yekaterinburg as an administrative, business, sports, information, scientific center. In 2004 , he was approved by the City Council.
