Shulamit Shalit (May 17, 1939, Taurage ) - Israeli writer, journalist, writer. The author of numerous biographical research essays published in magazines and almanacs and sounded in the author’s broadcasts.

Biography
Born in Lithuania. Maternal grandfather Shimon Shalit was a rabbi, paternal grandfather Grigory Fridberg was the military commissar of Dnepropetrovsk , and later a theater director. She graduated from the A. Gorky Literary Institute , worked as a journalist, editor, translator, correspondent for literature, theater and cinema in newspapers and magazines in Moscow, Vilnius, Riga, Yerevan, published more than 250 essays and articles on literature and art. She was engaged in lecture work, artistic and simultaneous translation.
In 1980 she moved to Israel. She was the head of the bibliography department in the library of the city of Ramat Gan, she conducted social work among the new immigrants. Since June 1991, she is the author and presenter of the REKA radio station Literary Pages, in which she talked about writers and poets who worked in Russian, Hebrew, Yiddish. She has released more than 200 literary and musical “radio news studies” [1] [2] , including: “Jewish Poets of Medieval Spain”, “Correspondence of Rachel Margolina with Korney Chukovsky,” about the unknown play “Admiral of the Ocean” by E. Kazakevich , “Songs , risen from the ashes ”- about poets and composers who died in the Holocaust, about the Leningrad school of Oriental scholars and semitologists - Leo Wilsker, Gita Gluskina , Joseph Amusin, about lesser-known authors, about Russian-Jewish literary connections.
Many of her studies and essays were published in the Russian-language press of Israel, Russia, and the USA in such publications as Notes on Jewish History , The Jerusalem Journal , Jewish Antiquity , and others.
Excitement and endurance, determination and intuition, meticulous collection of material - archival searches, interviews with relatives and friends, work with diaries and letters, and then meticulous selection of the most expressive details ... But maybe the most important thing is Shulamit Shalit’s ability to comprehend the logic of characters and feelings of their heroes, to reveal until now unknown facts. The author pulls out from the yellowed pages of old newspapers and magazines not the plots, but the heat and awe of the human deed, movement to meet fate, at the junction of internal forces and the inexorable preset of the outside world. In this case, the plot scheme is never repeated, and the breathing and rhythm of the letter changes depending on the material.
She made a great contribution to the opening of the Museum of Russian Art named after Maria and Mikhail Tsetlin in Ramat Gan . Thanks to the long-term work of Shulamit Shalit, many paintings from the Tsetlin collection were attributed (including N. Goncharova , L. Bakst , B. Grigoriev , Marevna and others) [3] [4] , and her monograph “I grieve with the people ...” , published at the opening of the Museum, withstood two editions in a short time and was reprinted in magazines and newspapers of different countries. The subsequent research essay on the Tsetlin family and their collection entitled “Distant Russia, I remember your image ...” was published in a catalog issued for the opening of the exhibition in the Tretyakov Gallery “Maria and Mikhail Tsetlin Collection” (2003). L. I. Iovleva, in her introduction to the catalog, called Sh. Shalit “a major specialist in the history and decoding of the Tsetlins collection”.
He is also the author and editor of the collections “Jews in the Culture of Russian Abroad” (compiled and published by Mikhail Parkhomovsky).
