They are composed of well-sorted sandy materials, which led to the intensive development of aeolian processes on its surface, which form a powerful dune belt. The coastal flow of wave energy is directed to the east, which is also the reason for the coastal flow of sediments of the same direction, which mainly discharges near the distal end of the peninsula. The peninsula ends with the Russky Zavorot Cape. To the east of the spit are the islands of the Gulyaevsky Koshki , in the south of the spit, the village of Khodovariha used to be located.
