History
The theater was created in 1934 with the aim of servicing the “collective and sole sector” at the initiative of the Latgale newspaper “ Taisneiba ” and the Moscow educational society “Prometheus” by the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR “On the work and development of state and collective farm theaters” and by the resolution of the Zapsibkraykom of the CPSU (b) “ On the situation of theatrical affairs in the West Siberian Territory ”of January 29, 1934 [1] .
In 1934, the cultural institution was called the Mobile Latgalian collective farm theater, in 1935 - the Latgale national collective farm and state farm theater, in 1936 - the Latgale inter-regional collective farm theater, in 1937 - the Latgalian national collective farm theater [1] ..
The team consisted of representatives of working and collective farm youth, the troupe consisted of 8 people, in 1936 the cast grew to 12 people. The theater organized a wide educational and concert activity [1] .
In 1937, due to the arrest by the NKVD actors, the theater was closed [1] .
