Biography
He studied at Vilnius secondary schools, in 1960-1966 - at the Vilnius Secondary School of Arts named after M.K. Čiurlionis for gifted children.
In 1973 he graduated from the Art Institute of the Lithuanian SSR . Since 1974, participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad ( Moscow , Riga , Tashkent , Gothenburg , Athens , Beijing , Helsinki , Linz ). Personal exhibitions were held in Vilnius (1993, 1994, 1998, 2008; posthumous 2014), Šiauliai (2008), Plunge (2009). [one]
In 1998-2008, he was chairman of the Union of Artists of Lithuania .
Creativity
Created sculptural works of various genres. Among them are decorative sculptures in public spaces - “Shadows of the Waves” in Klaipeda (1984), “Remembering the Motherland” in Kupiskis (1987), “Bird” in Palanga (1997), chamber sculptures “Memory” (1987) and others, sculptures monuments - the “Bearers” in Ukmerga (1982), Dionizas Poski in the village of Bietai (1990), the architect Laurinas Gutsevičius (1982, installed in 1994) and General Jonas Chernyus (1998) in Kupiskis, “Guardian Angels” - the dead policemen in Vilnius (2005), sculptures made of granite, marble, wood, metal, among other things, and tombstones.
Among the works of Vaclovas Krutinis is a sculptural composition on the territory of the Republican Vilnius Psychiatric Hospital in New Vilnius (1987). It is made of granite and symbolizes a person born again after treatment. [2]
Works of a decorative nature, human figures dominate, figurative compositions are not uncommon. Since the 1990s, there has been a tendency to design abstract compositions from individual segments. [one]
The works are stored in the Lithuanian Museum of Art , the M.K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, the State Tretyakov Gallery , and the National Museum of Art of China. [one]
