Ikaris ( born Ikaris ) is a fictional character that appears in the American comics by Marvel Comics . It first appeared in Eternals # 1 (July, 1976) and was created by Jack Curby . Ikaris is a member of the superhuman race known as the Eternal .

In 2019, it was announced that Richard Madden will play the role of Ikaris in the Marvel Cinematic Universe , whose debut will take place in the film " Eternal " 2020.

Publication History
Ikaris first appeared in Eternals # 1 (July, 1976) and was coined by Jack Curby .
Screenwriter Neil Gaiman [1] [2] and artist John Romita, Jr. [3] created the 2006 mini-series, through which they conveyed the role of the Eternal in the modern Marvel universe. It was originally planned to release six issues, but then the series was expanded to seven issues, because, according to editor Nick Lowe: “The story was too big to fit into the structure that we had originally planned. At the time of writing the fifth issue, Neil told me that he might need the seventh edition. He had too many ideas to fit them into six numbers (despite the fact that the first and sixth issues were with many pages) ” [4] .
Ikaris also appears in the All-New Invader as an antagonist, being under the control of Kriyas , using the Whisper of God on him [5] .

Marvel 2099
An alternative version of Ikaris from the future appears in the Marvel 2099 universe. He debuts in 2099: Manifest Destiny .
The Eternal
In 2003, Chuck Austin wrote The Eternal series as part of the Marvel MAX , which talked about the arrival of Ikaris's parents on Earth (in this version, Ikaedin and Jeska), as well as the story of the birth of Ikaris and his growing up on Earth.

- Ikaris appears in Marvel Knights: Eternals, voiced by Trevor Deval [6] .
Cinema
- In April 2018, Kevin Feigi announced that the studio is developing the film " Eternal ", in which Ikaris and Sercy were to become central characters [7] [8] . In May 2018, Matthew and Ryan Firpo were hired to write the script for the film [9] . By the end of September, Marvel hired Chloe Zhao as the director of the painting. [10] Filming began in July 2019 in Atlanta [11] . In 2019, at the San Diego Comic-Con International, it was revealed that the role of Ikaris will be played by Richard Madden [12] .
