Story
The Simpsons wake up and discover that their house is completely flooded with water. It turned out that the night before, Marge asked Homer to help her adjust the position of their painting with a sailing boat. However, they accidentally drove a nail into one of the water pipes, causing flooding. Having received an insurance payment of $ 102, the Simpsons need to find temporary housing for the duration of their home restoration (six months).
Hearing that the family had extra money, Grandfather Simpson asks to use the money to finance an important operation that he does not want to discuss. After Dr. Nick was ineffective for this, Lisa cited the example of free medical care in Denmark . Marge suggests using Homer's insurance benefits and leave to go on a family trip to Denmark for his father's surgery. Homer refuses at first, but Abe tricks him, reluctantly agreeing to go.
Arriving in the windy region of Denmark, the family settles in the Airbnb apartment, which saves space, to the joy of Lisa. The landlord shows the family the surroundings of Copenhagen by visiting places like Amalienborg , Land of Legends and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Marge and Lisa are fascinated by their culture, and Bart and Homer make fun of her. Homer discovers that although non-Danes do not necessarily receive free medical care, people injured in Denmark receive free treatment. At this time, Bart, Lisa and Marge begin to ponder the idea of moving to Denmark for at least one semester, with which Homer disagrees. Then the three leave, leaving Homer and his father in search of places in Denmark, capable of injuring Abe, but to no avail.
At Kronborg Castle , accustomed to Danish culture, Marge asks Homer to think about moving to Denmark. When he finally begins to think about the possibility, he changes his mind at the last moment and tries to push his father down the stairs to conduct his operation for free. However, Abe clings to Homer's leg, he admits that he really did not need an operation for something life-threatening, but to remove a heart-shaped tattoo engraved with the name " Mona " because he is ashamed to live without it. When Homer and his father drown in sorrow over the death of Mona in a Danish bar, the Danish man approaches Homer and they dance together. Marge sees them through the window and runs away in despair, and Homer follows her.
After the incident, an understanding, but angry Marge confesses to Homer that she will not return home with him, as well as children who want to stay in Denmark for an indefinite period. At the airport, Homer begins to regret having left her in Denmark, but his father admits that he destroyed his marriage with Mona in the same way because of his stubbornness. He advises Homer not to make the same mistakes as he. Homer runs out of the airport and runs back to the apartment to make peace with Marge. Finding her, Homer promises to love her and vows to stay with her in Copenhagen. Marge is glad, however, admits that she has other thoughts due to problems with the space and location in the apartment and that it is quickly getting dark here. She admits to Homer that she is ready to return home to the United States . Children agree to return, because Bart does not want to use good schools, and Lisa knows that she will be an outcast in moving to Denmark.
Before leaving, the family takes his grandfather to a socialized tattoo parlor, where the tattoo artist turns the tattoo with the name "Mona" into a tattoo from Mona's house for free, giving him a new outlook on life.
