Content
Club career
The footballer began his career at the Guangzhou Football Club. Zhao played in the first and second division of the Chinese Championship. In 1988, the footballer moved to the Japanese Mitsubishi Motors. In the 1987/1988 season, his team took 3rd place. In the next season of Mitsubishi Motors took the last place and flew to the second division of the Japanese football league. In the 1989/1990 season, the striker helped the club return to the first division.
China team
In 1982, the attacker held the first match for the Chinese national team against Hong Kong. The match was won by the Chinese national team with a score of 2-0, and one of the goals scored by Zhao Daiyu. In the 1984 Asian Cup qualifier, the attacker played 4 matches and scored 6 goals ( Jordan -2, Hong Kong -2, Qatar -1, Afghanistan -1). Zhao played 6 matches and scored 2 goals in the Asian Cup , in which the Chinese team took 2nd place. In the 1986 World Cup qualifier played 5 matches and scored 6 goals. The Chinese national team took 2 place in group 4A and did not reach the second stage of the qualifying tournament.
Coaching career
In 1988-1990 Zhao coached the youth at Urava Red Diamonds Football Club. In 1999, Zhao Daiyu was the head coach of Guangzhou Apollo in Jia B.
