Men's 400m competition at the 2019 European Indoor Track and Field Championships was held on March 1 and 2 in Glasgow at the Commonwealth Arena .
The current European winter champion in the 400 meters race was Pavel Maslak from the Czech Republic . He did not defend his title because of the flu , which he fell ill a week before the start of the tournament [1] .

Final
The men's 400m final was held on March 2, 2019 [4] . The expected victory was won by the current world and European champion in the 400m hurdles Karsten Warholm . The 23-year-old Norwegian from the very start broke into the leaders and did not provide his opponents with a chance to win. At the finish, he managed to repeat the European record - one of the oldest, established back in 1988 by Thomas Schönlebe from the GDR - 45.05. The main competitor of Varholm Oscar Usillos kept in second place the entire distance and won a silver medal with a record of Spain 45.66. The third national achievement was established by Tony van Dipen , who pulled out a bronze medal in the fight against Luka Yanezhich - 46.13 [5] .
