Seattle Sounders is a former American football club based in Seattle , Washington . It was founded in 1994 as a member of the , the then top division of football in the United States. Since 1996, he played in second-level leagues. The club ceased to exist in 2008, when the modern MLS Seattle Sounders club was created on its basis.

History
The club was formed in 1994 and named after the Seattle Sounders team, which played in the North American Football League from 1974 to 1983.
In 1994, the Seattle Sounders won the regular season of the . In and he won four championship titles - in 1995, 1996, 2005 [1] and 2007 [2] , and twice became the winner of the regular season - in 2002 and 2007.
In 2006, the Seattle Sounders entered into a partnership agreement with the Cambridge United English Football League club.
On November 13, 2007, MLS announced Seattle ’s choice to host the new league franchise, which will launch in 2009. The owner of the Seattle Sounders Adrian Hanauer became one of the co-owners of the future team along with Drew Carey, Paul Allen and majority shareholder Joe Roth [3] . On April 6, 2008, it was announced that the new club would retain the name Seattle Sounders . [4] For the previous Seattle Sounders, the 2008 season was the last [5] .
Stadium
In 1994, the Seattle Sounders hosted several home games on the Tacoma Dome indoor arena in Tacoma . After that, the club began performing at the Seattle Memorial Stadium. On July 28, 2002, the club held a match at Cuest Field , which became the first sports event at the newly-built stadium. In 2003, the Seattle Sounders relocated to Cuest Field on an ongoing basis. The club spent most of the 2008 season at the Starfire Sports Complex in Takuela , a northern suburb of Seattle.
