The American Tractor Brigade is an American volunteer production team. It was originally known as the Friends of Russia Agricultural Relief Unit and the aftermath of the famine.
Formed by Harold Vaer in the composition of 10 people who arrived at the beginning of 1922 in the state farm Toykino Perm district. Tractors delivered by the brigade members were used in the sowing campaign and for training the local population in how to manage and repair them. The brigade members returned to the United States at the end of 1922, leaving tractors and equipment they brought as a gift to the residents of Toykino.
The farmer and agronomist Harold M. Ware (1890-1935) was a member of the Workers' Party. V. I. Lenin called him "the man-dynamo-machine."
