Labler, Vladimir

Vladimir Labler ( Czech Vladimír Labler , German Wladimir Labler ; March 22, 1847 , Prague - July 1, 1914 , Trieste ) - Czech conductor and violinist. The son of .

In 1863 he made his debut as a violinist and viola player in the Prague Opera Orchestra. In 1864 he moved to Brno , played in the orchestra of the city theater, since 1868 at the same time regent of the choir in . Since 1872 he lived and worked in Olomouc , directed the choir of St. Moritz Cathedral and German amateur choral groups. In 1886-1896 he played in the orchestra of the Bayreuth Festival . Since 1879 he released in Prague, and then in Vienna, songbooks for students of the Austrian school, which were in great demand. Author of church and choral music, didactic works.

Best known as the second (a little less than a year after the Vienna premiere) conductor who performed the Eighth Symphony of Anton Bruckner [1] .

The son, also Vladimir Labler (1872-1929), an adviser, was a member of the management of museums in Lienz and Innsbruck ; his portrait was painted by Adolf Guggenberger .
