Buccanodon dowsetti (lat.) - a species of birds from the family of African beards . They live in West Africa , distributed west of the Dahomey gap in the territory of Côte d'Ivoire , Ghana , Guinea , Liberia and Sierra Leone [1] .

Previously, the species was considered conspecific with Buccanodon duchaillui , but was isolated in a separate taxon due to the difference in their songs. The sounds made by Buccanodon dowsetti were described by Nigel James Collard and Peter Bosman as a series of 7-10 accelerating notes similar to the song Tricholaema hirsuta (phonetized as “oop” ) [1] [2] .
