Biography

Born in 1929 in the family of metallurgist Aron Yakovlevich Zeitlin . In 1951 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys. And .V. After graduating from the institute for state distribution, Mark Zeitlin was sent to Serov, to a small factory outside the Northern Urals, where he worked for two years.

Returning to Tula, Mark Aronovich worked at the Kosogorsky metallurgical plant, then at the Novotulsky metallurgical plant. Despite his excellent organizational skills, by law he could not occupy leadership positions, since his father was the director of the same factory. Mark Zeitlin held various positions, but his abilities were most clearly manifested in the Central Plant Laboratory, where he worked for several summers as first deputy and then chief. In 1984, Mark Aronovich became director of the Tulachermet NGO, which was intended to test new technologies. It was Zeitlin who stood behind the country's first association of an industrial enterprise and a scientific research center - TsNIIchermet. This is how the NGO Tulachermet came about.

In 1981, Mark Aronovich became the laureate of the USSR State Prize for the development and development of the production of a gamut of high-quality synthetic cast irons for mechanical engineering based on pig iron; he was the ideologist of this direction in metallurgy.

In 1984, Mark Aronovich became director of the Tulachermet NGO. In 1994-1999 he was chairman of the Board of Directors of Tulachermet

During privatization, it acquired a 5% stake in Tulachermet . Then he became the owner of a 25% stake in the Vyborg port.

On the evening of December 28, 2000, Mark Aronovich walked out of the office, an unknown man opened fire from five meters along the road. With two bullets, Zeitlin was killed on the spot [1] .

Mark Zeitlin worked at Tulachermet for more than 30 years, but was forced to leave after changing the owners of the plant. Rumors circulated around the city that the new owners of Tulachermet ordered him, who continued to remain the holder of a large stake in the company in his new position. One of the five versions of the murder case, which was developed by the investigation, was formulated as follows: “The murder of Zeitlin was committed in connection with his work at AK Tulachermet.”
