The parliamentary elections in Suriname were held on May 25, 2015 [1] . As a result, the National Democratic Party of Suriname for the first time received the vast majority of seats in the National Assembly .

Election System
The National Assembly of Suriname consists of 51 deputies elected by proportional system in 10 multi-member constituencies, comprising from 2 to 17 seats [2] . The constituencies correspond to the administrative districts of the country. The National Assembly elects President Suriname.
