Douglas Chima ( born Douglas Csima ; born , ) is a Canadian rower who played for the Canadian rowing team from 2007-2012. Silver medalist of the Summer Olympic Games in London , winner of silver and bronze medals of the World Championships, winner and medalist of many regattas of national importance.

Biography
Douglas Chima was born on November 21, 1985 in the city of Mississauga , Ontario .
He started rowing in 2003, was a member of the rowing team while studying at McMaster University , and repeatedly participated in various student regattas. He was trained at the Lander Boat Club in Hamilton .
He made his debut at the adult international level in the 2007 season, when he joined the main team of the Canadian national team and performed in eights at the World Cup in Lucerne. Also this season, he marked his performance at the Youth World Championships in Glasgow, where he qualified for the consolation final B in the eights and settled down in the final protocol of the competitions on the seventh line.
In 2009, he won silver and bronze medals at the World Cup in Lucerne and Banyoles, respectively, and became the silver medalist in eights at the world championship in Poznan .
At the 2010 World Cup in Carapiro, he finished seventh in the eights, was third at the World Cup in Bled and fourth at the stage in Lucerne.
In 2011, in the eights he took bronze at the world championship in Bled , showed the fifth result at the World Cup in Lucerne.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . In the program, the eights finished second in the decisive race behind the crew from Germany and thereby won the silver Olympic medal. Soon after the end of this Olympics, Chima decided to end his career as a professional athlete [1] .
