Kolchin, Fedor Nikolaevich (1865-1944) - mayor of the Intercession (1903-1917), philanthropist.
Born in 1865 in Pokrov. He belonged to the merchants. He was a homeowner.
He was a member of the Orphan's Court (1899) [1] .
In 1903 he was elected mayor of the Intercession. With his participation, the city was equipped with lanterns, sidewalks were paved [2] .
He founded the male and female gymnasiums. Allocated personal funds to the Pokrova hospital. Built a firehouse, which housed a theater club.
With his arrival, the public life of the city became more active, meetings of the literary and drama circle were held in the house of Kolchin. There he organized a shelter, for which he allocated personal funds [2] .
Member of the Zemsky Assembly [3] .
In 1913, in honor of the 10th anniversary of service in the rank of mayor, he was awarded the medal "For diligence" [2] .
In 2016, a memorial plaque was erected in honor of F. N. Kolchin on the wall of the former girls' gymnasium (currently school number 7) [4] .
