Moe (viscountry)

Vicomté de Meaux is a fief in medieval France.

Originally a vassal of the Counts of Vermandois .

  • Hugo I (d. 1111), lord d'Oise, chatelen of Cambrai. Son of Hugo, Chatelaine Douai. Mentioned as the Viscount of Mo in the Charter of 1096.
  • Hugo II d'Oazy (d. After 1133), son of the previous
  • Simon d'Oazy (died before 1171), son.
  • Hugo III d'Oazy (d. 1189), son of Simon.
  • Hildiard (Hildegard) d'Uazy (d. Before 1177), daughter of Simon. The wife of Andre de Montmiraille (died 1177/80), Señora de la Ferte-Gaucher.
  • Jean I Blessed (1167–1217), Baron de Montmiraille, Viscount Mo and Ferte-Ancu, chatelen Cambrai and Douai, their son.

  • Mary (d. 09/20/1272), sister of the previous two. Wife of Angerran III , Señora de Coucy.
  • Angerran III , lord de Coucy, husband of Mary, Viscount Mo since 1262

  • Jean III de Guine (died after 1323), nephew of the previous son of Alix de Coucy and Arnul III, Count de Guine .
  • Jeanne de Guin (c. 1320 - died before 1344), the daughter of Jean III, in 1323 married Gaucher de Chatillon (1320-1377).
  • Gaucher de Chatillon, the husband of Jeanne de Guin, after the death of his father-in-law and to the death of his wife bore the title of Viscount Moe.
  • Angerran de Coucy (d. 1344), the third son of Angerran V, lord de Coucy, cousin of Jeanne de Guine, after whose death he inherited the viscountry of Mo.
  • Philippe de Coucy (1344-1350), son.
  • Jeanne de Coucy (1350-1368), daughter of Philip, wife of Jean de Chatillon, seignora de Dampière. Perhaps she was not a viscountess.

  • Robert de Bethune (1371–1408), nephew of Philippe de Coucy.
  • Jeanne de Bethune, daughter of Robert. She married Robert Barsky, Count Marl and Soissons.
  • Jeanne Barskaya , their daughter. The wife of Louis of Luxembourg , constable of France.
  • Pierre of Luxembourg (d. 1482), comte de Saint-Paul, their son.
  • Maria Luxemburg (d. 1547), daughter of Pierre, wife of Francois de Bourbon , Count of Wandom.
  • Louis de Bourbon (1547-1557), their son, Archbishop of Sans, Cardinal.
  • Louis de Bourbon, Prince de Conde (1557–1569), nephew.
  • Henri de Bourbon , prince de Conde (1569–1588), son.
  • Henri de Bourbon , son of the previous one. In 1627 (August 13) he sold the viscouncy of Mo to Maximilien I de Bethune, duke of Sully , who in the same year presented it to his grandson Philip (died 1682). He, having no direct heirs (his only daughter was tonsured as a monk), in 1640 gave way to his cousin Maximilien III de Bethune, duke of Sully.
