Life and work
Born in the family of graphic artist Aaron Bradley and his wife Sarah Rowland. Since 1881 he has been studying printing at one of Northern Michigan's print shops. Since 1885 he has been working in Chicago at several printing companies in turn. At the beginning of the 1890s he appeared as an artist, draftsman and illustrator. Gradually gaining fame in America as one of the most significant masters of the advertising poster. After the publication of an article about the art of William G. Bradley and his posters in the STUDIO 1895 almanac, the artist is invited by Siegfried Bing to participate in the exhibition at the Salon de l'Art Nouveau (Salon of New Art). In the same 1895, he opened his own printing workshop in Springfield, Massachusetts. Then his most significant works, made in the style of symbolism ( Pre-Raphaelites , or German [[Art Nouveau | Art Nouveau]), are published. William G. Bradley was one of the most famous representatives of these movements in art in America. At the beginning of the twentieth century (in its first quarter), this master was the highest paid artist in the United States. He also owns the development of a special "Bradley font."
