Pirsagatchay ( azerb. Pirsaatçay , also Pirkhan ) is a village in the Kubalybalaoghlan administrative-territorial district of the Adzhikabul region of Azerbaijan .

Etymology
The village got its name from the river on which it is located [1] .
History
With the beginning in the late 1960s of the construction of the Pirsatchay reservoir, necessary for irrigating the sowing lands of the Salyan and Shemakha districts, near the future dam, not far from the small village of Pirkhan , the construction village of Pirsagatstroy was created.
According to the administrative division of 1977, the village of Pirasagatchay was part of the Ranjbar village council of the Salyan region of the Azerbaijan SSR [2] . Despite this, until the early 1980s, on topographic maps, the place was designated as Pirkhan .
On April 24, 1990, the village was transferred to the newly formed Adzhikabul region. In 1999-2003, the village was given the title of village.
In 1999, an administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Kubalybalaoglansky municipality of Adzhikabul district was established within the Ranjbar administrative-territorial district. In 2003, the village entered the newly formed Kubalybalaoglansky administrative-territorial district [3] .
Geography
Pirsagatchay is located at the Pirsagat reservoir .
The village is located 5 km from the center of the ATO Kubalybalaoglan , 28 km from the Adzhikabul district center and 120 km from Baku . The nearest train station is Pirsaat.
The village is located at an altitude of 65 meters above sea level.
