Rishi Sunak ( born Rishi Sunak ; born May 12, 1980, Hampshire) is a British politician and chief secretary of the Treasury (since 2019).

Biography
He graduated from Oxford University , where he studied philosophy, politics and economics, and also received a master 's degree in business administration from Stanford University . He founded a global investment company with a turnover of $ 1 billion, specializing in supporting small businesses in the UK [1] .
In 2015, he won the parliamentary elections in Richmond County (Yorks) with a score of 51.4%, down 11% from the Conservatives in the 2010 elections. Nevertheless, the victory was convincing: the strongest of the rivals, candidate from the Independence Party, Matthew Cook secured the support of only 15.2% of voters. In 2017, Sunak already received 63.9% of the vote, and Dan Perry, the remaining second, received 23.4% [2] .
On January 9, 2018, Prime Minister Theresa May organized a massive personnel reshuffle of junior ministers, as a result of which Rishi Sunak was first involved in the government as a parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Housing and Communal Services, Communities and Local Government [3] .
On July 24, 2019, he was appointed Chief Secretary of the Treasury in the formation of the government of Boris Johnson [4] , having received the right, if necessary, to participate in Cabinet meetings.
Personal life
Sunak's mother is a pharmacist, father is a general practitioner in the UK public health system. Rishi Sunak is married to the daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murti Akshate [5] .
