Parliamentary elections in Nauru were held on January 24, 1987 after the Parliament elected in the 1986 election was dissolved [1] due to the inability to form a government. All candidates were independent, as there were no political parties in the country. As a result, supporters of Hammer Deroburt , who was re-elected president, won. The turnout was 92.67%. [one]
