Career
In 1956, the defender began to play for Armini from Hannover. In 1960, the player moved to Bayern. In 1965, after winning the final tournament of Regionliga, Bayern went to the Bundesliga. Werner Olk became team captain. He helped the club win the championship Germany and the Cup Winners' Cup. The football player finished his career in 1973 in Switzerland.

Coaching career
Werner Olk began his coaching career in the second division of Switzerland. In 1974-1975. he worked at the Second Bundesliga club Preussin. In the 1977/78 season, he headed Augsburg, who took 14th place in the second Bundesliga (South zone). In the 1978/1979 season, Olk worked at the Eintracht football club from Braunschweig, but was sacked in March 1979. In 1980, he headed Darmstadt 98, with which he won the South zone of the second Bundesliga 1980/1981 and brought the club to the Bundesliga , in which Darmstadt spent one season. In the 1982 season / 1983 Werner coached “Freiburg” from the second Bundesliga, who finished 8th in the season.
