Biography
In 1949 he graduated from the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1949-1959 he worked at the Institute of Petroleum of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR , in 1960-1974 - at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. Since 1975 - Director of the Institute of Theoretical Problems of Chemical Technology of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. He taught at the Institute of Petroleum and Chemistry in 1959-1968. Currently, he is an academician-secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), director of the Institute of Chemical Problems of ANAS.
The main areas of scientific work are the oxidation and oxidative ammonolysis of hydrocarbons , the theoretical foundations of chemical technology.
He developed the process of liquid-phase oxidative ammonolysis of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons; theory, general principles and methods for modeling and optimizing the control of industrial processes with varying catalyst activity in systems with a pseudo-deposited and stationary catalyst bed. He synthesized maleic anhydride by direct oxidation of n - butylene and n - butane ; vinyl chloride by conjugated dehydrochlorination of dichloroethane and hydrochlorination of acetylene; Acrylonitrile by oxidative ammonolysis of propane .
