Zelomorpha effugia (Latin) is a species of parasitic horsemen of the genus Zelomorpha from the family Braconidae . Named after the short science fiction stories Escape Pod , which inspired the author and the corresponding Latin word (Escape; lat. Effugiō, flight) [1] .

Small hymenoptera equestrians , body length about 1 cm. Endoparasitoids of free-living lepidoptera caterpillars ( Erebidae ), which were fed on Lacistemataceae : Cosmosoma hercyna (on Lacistema aggregatum and Lozania pittieri ). Spur of anterior tibia shorter than the first segment of the foot; front legs with simple claws, not comb; oviposition shorter than half the length of the metasoma; forehead limited to keels. The species was first described in 2019 by American and Canadian entomologists led by Sarah Meierotto ( Sarah Meierotto , University of Kentucky , Lexington , USA ) [1] .
