Biography
Vanessa Ponce was born in Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico . She lived for ten years in Aguascalientes, Mexico , as well as in the state of Guanajuato , for five years, where she graduated. She studied international trade at the University of Guanajuato, has a degree in international business. After training, Vanessa Ponce returned to her hometown, where she joined the board of directors of a rehabilitation center for girls and women.
Vanessa supports a number of nonprofit foundations that deal with various social aspects. She is a volunteer in an organization called Migrants on the Road, which helps migrants.
At her coronation ceremony as Miss World in 2018 , she advertised her project called “On the Willy”, which aims to help indigenous children who emigrate from Guerrero , Mexico to Guanajuato , Mexico . She also works at a school called Nenemi, which is dedicated to representing intercultural education.

In 2014, Ponce participated in the fifth season of the Mexico's Next Top Model TV show, where she represented the city of Leon in Guanajuato , Mexico . She became the winner of this competition.
Miss Mexico 2018
She was the winner of Miss Mexico City in 2017 , and then Vanessa won the 2018 Miss Mexico national contest and won the right to represent Mexico in the 2018 Miss World contest.
Miss World 2018
Ponce represented Mexico at the Miss World international beauty pageant , in which she won the 2018 Miss World title and coronation in issue 68. The competition was held in Sanya , China , on December 8, 2018. [3] She was crowned by the outgoing 2017 Miss World , Manushi Chhillar from India. [four]
Vanessa Ponce de Leon is the oldest Miss World of all the queen-winners of previous competitions at the moment. She became Miss World at the age of 26 years and 276 days. The previous record was set in 1989 - Polish Agneta Kreglitska received the crown at the age of 24 years and 244 days.
