Based on the plot of the original work, several adaptations to other media formats were made. On November 9, 2018, the release of the eponymous manga , illustrated by the Koyuki mangaka [2], was started in Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Age magazine. On November 7 of the same year, the upcoming anime adaptation of the novel was announced, the work on which was entrusted to White Fox Studios [2] . The production was led by production director Masayuki Sakoy , known for the series Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online , Matoi the Sacred Slayer and Celestial Method [3] . The script was entrusted to Kent Ihara, whose previous works were adaptations of Saga of Tanya the Evil and Vinland Saga [3] . The release of the series on various television channels in Japan is scheduled for October 2019 [3] .

Story
The novice goddess Ristarta was tasked with saving the first high-ranking world for her - Geabrand. Responsibly approaching the choice of his own assistant, Ristarta decides to call Seiju Ryuguin, a Japanese, as a hero, since his initial characteristics should have been almost unbelievable. However, soon after the transfer of Ryuguin to the new world, the goddess learns that when choosing, she did not pay attention to an important note about the character of the hero, since he was too careful. Seiya is not able to go on a mission without buying three additional sets of armor, in any case, restores her magic points and constantly feels unprepared for battles. Ristarta has to teach Ryuguin how to become a real hero of the new world [4] .

Criticism
Evaluating the first volume of ranobe, critic of the Anime News Network portal Rebecca Silverman noted that the concept of work corresponds to the widespread isekai genre, which is extremely popular in Japan [4] . Unlike similar works, The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious presents to the reader the point of view of the goddess, not the called hero, which, according to Silverman, could be a win for the work [4] . This move, according to the observer, allowed Light Tutihi to try to play the romantic image of the “bad guy”, in which all the girls fall in love [4] . According to Silverman, a similar approach to the constant heating of the heroine’s romantic interest in the male character was characteristic of the shojo manga Masina Osakabe [4] . The reviewer also praised Saori Toyota's illustrations, emphasizing that the colors are much more detailed [4] . In general, Silverman considered this work of the Isekai genre good enough “so that both his fans and detractors could read it” [4] .
