Ruprecht von Berg (c. 1365 - July 29, 1394) - contender for the bishopric of Passau (1387-1393), bishop of Paderborn (from 1389).

The eldest son of Duke William I of Berg and his wife Anna, sister of King Ruprecht of Germany.
From childhood, it was intended for a spiritual career. He was educated in Rome. In 1386, Pope Urban VI granted him the title of apostolic notary ( notarius apostolicus ).
In the early 1380s. He claimed the post of Bishop of Münster, but met opposition from the Cologne Archbishop Friedrich von Saarverden and Counts von der Mark.
In 1387, with the support of King Wenceslas, he tried to become Bishop of Passau. However, he was recognized only by the parishes of the Bavarian part of the diocese, and in the Austrian Duke Albrecht III nominated his candidates - Hermann Digny, and then Georg von Hohenlohe, the latter received papal consent in 1393.
In November 1389, he became bishop of Paderborn, without refusing to claim the richer diocese of Passau (until 1393).
He waged feudal wars with neighbors. During the siege of the castle, Padberg died on July 29, 1394 from the plague. Buried in Paderborn.
