Jack, Alistair

Alistair William Jack (born July 7, 1963) is a Scottish politician [1] who has served as Secretary of State for Scotland since 2019. A member of the Conservative Party, he has been a Member of Parliament (MP) from Dumfries and Galloway since 2017. [2] [3] [4]

Alistair was born July 7, 1963 in Dumfries, Scotland in the family of David and Gene Jacks. He was educated at Dalbitti Elementary School, at Crawfordton House, a private preparatory school near Moniave, Dumfrieshire, and then at Glenalmond College, then an independent boarding school for boys. Alistair Jack is a businessman who founded the company for the rental of tents and self-service, on which he built his fortune in 20 million pounds. He currently owns a 1,200-acre farm near Lockerbie . [7] [8] [9] He previously headed the Annan River Fisheries and Trust Board, as well as the Fisheries Authority of Scotland and Galloway Woodlands. On August 31, 2018, Jack was appointed personal secretary of the head of the House of Lords [11] . He held this position until his appointment on February 20, 2019 as a parliamentary organizer . [12] On April 23, 2019, he was appointed Lord Commissioner of the Treasury, who served in the government clerical office.
