Kemono Friends is a television anime series produced by Kadokawa , based on the smartphone game created by Nexon . The anime tells of Friends, anthropomorphized versions of various animals that live their lives, occasionally fighting monsters known as Ceruleans (or azure). The original anime series, released by Yaoyorozu , whose screenwriter and director was Tatsuki , was broadcast from January 10 to March 28, 2017 on television, as well as the Crunchyroll service, which co-financed and licensed the series [1] . The opening composition is “Welcome to Japari Park” ( Japanese よ う こ そ ジ ャ パ リ パ ー ク へ Ё: oblique Japari Pa: ku e ) , performed by Dōbutsu Biscuits × PPP, and the closing composition is “My friend” ( Japanese ぼ く の フ レ ф ф ф ф ф ф ф ф ф ф ) , performance by Mewhan. New content for TV Tokyo's AniTele service was released on April 1, 2017 [2] . The unofficial 2-minute short film “Episode 12.1” was uploaded by the director on Niconico and YouTube on April 5, 2017 [3] . Additional shorts were created in collaboration with the Japan Racing Association , Animelo Summer Live 2017 and Nissin Foods [4] [5] [6] . The second season was broadcast from January 14 to April 1, 2019. [7] Ryuichi Kimura and Takuya Matsumoto replaced Tatsuki as a director and screenwriter respectively. The rest of the animators and cast remained unchanged. Opening song - “Notteke ~ Japari Beat”, performed by Dubutsu Biscuits × PPP [8] . Covering composition from episodes 1-5 - “Hoshi o Tsunagete”, performed by Gothic × Luck; starting from the sixth episode, Gothic × Luck performed the second cover song “Kimi wa Kaeru Basho” [9] . The original network animated mini-series based on the original mobile game called “Welcome to Japari Park” ( よ う こ そ ジ ャ パ リ パ ー ク Yokoso Japari Paku )パ ー ク was broadcast on TV Tokyo AnimeTele on August 10, 2018 [10] . Crunchyroll began broadcasting the series on October 16, 2018 [11] .

| In the savannah of the Japari park, a girl with a hat and bag meets Serval , who is one of the anthropomorphized animals known as Friends. Seeing that the girl does not remember at all where she came from and what kind of animal she was, Serval gives her the name “Bag” and decides to lead her to the exit from the savannah so that she can find the library of the Japari park and get the necessary information there. Having received help from Hippo , Serval meets a dangerous creature called Cerulean, and tries to find its vulnerabilities. The bag manages to find such a place on its back, and it uses a paper airplane to distract Cerulean, which gives Serval a chance to defeat him. Crossing the jungle area, Bag and Serval meet a robot hare called Lucky, who communicates with the Bag, although previously completely ignored all Friends. | ||

| To learn more about people, Bag and Serval go to the Japari library, for which they first need to give the right answers to tricky questions and go through the maze. Having reached the library, they meet Owl and Eagle Owl , who give them the task of preparing food. After the Bag prepares them for curry , the owls tell them that, apparently, people have completely disappeared, and offer them to look for the habitat of people where there may be some clues. As a thank you for the food, they give Bag and Serval several tickets to the concert of the PPP, the idol group of the Japari park, consisting of penguins. | ||

| Boar and Serval come to the seashore, where the third PPP team is going to hold its first concert, and they meet a group fan Cat . While observing the rehearsal of the RFP, they learn that they are very worried if they can meet the high standards of their predecessors. In addition, right before the performance, one of the group members, Princess , begins to behave very strange after the Cat mentioned that earlier there were fewer members in the group. Having found out that due to the fact that there were no representatives of her species in the group before, the Princess developed a stage fear , and Boar and Serval drag her onto the stage, where she hears other members praising her for everything that she did for the group . Having also received help from the Cat, the Princess reunites with her friends and they have a wonderful performance. | Boar and Serval advance through the snow-capped mountains to a hot spring. While they were waiting for the blizzard in the snow cave made by the Bag, two foxes, the Black-brown and the Ordinary , came to them, who escorted them to the hot springs, that they helped them fix some equipment. Examining the source, Bag and Serval hear the previously recorded message played by Lucky, which mentions a certain Mirai. Immediately after this, a mass of Ceruleans appears, and Bag has to make an impromptu sleigh, on which everyone safely gets to the bus. After relaxing at the hotel near the source, Bag and Serval are sent to the house, where they plan to spend the night. | ||

| Girls get to the Golden Woodpecker Hotel, which is managed by the Woodpecker . Inspecting her, they meet the Wolf and the Giraffe , and also hear another message from Mirai. The next day, the Woodpecker says that she saw a strange shimmering shadow; other house visitors suspect that it may be Cerulean. Having stayed at the hotel due to rain, Bag and Serval also stumble upon this shadow. The bag finally realizes that this is the Mirai projection that appears during the playback of her recordings. After looking at a better recording on which Mirai talks about the danger of the Ceruleans, Serval begins to cry when he sees another Serval next to Mirai. Arriving at the bay Bag and Serval are going to sail on a boat to the sea, but then they hear a loud noise. | ||

| The monkey , working in a team with the Bear and Hyena Cerulean hunters, rescues Bag and Serval from the big black Cerulean. After Lucky gives a warning regarding something called “ Sandstar Raw ” [14] , Bag and Serval follow him up the mountain, while the hunters stay below, continuing their hunt for the main part of the black Cerulean . After receiving another message from Mirai with the mention of the “four gods”, the girls get to the top, where star sand comes from. Here they are overtaken by the Raccoon and Fenech, and the Raccoon takes away the hat from the Bag and declares that she stole this hat from her; however, upon learning of all the good deeds done by the Bag, she gives her the hat back. While the girls, following the instructions of Mirai, dig up four stone slabs symbolizing the four gods, the black Cerulean below absorbs star sand and begins to grow. After the girls put in place all four plates, they manage to activate the filter, which prevents Cerulean from further absorbing star sand. Having set out to protect the park, Bag suggests using a boat to lure Cerulean into the water. However, when everything is not going according to plan, and Cerulean swallows Serval, the Bag dives into it and rescues Serval, while sacrificing himself. | ||

| Shocked by the fact that Cerulean ate the Bag when she was trying to save her, Serval, along with Medved, is trying to save his girlfriend. Meanwhile, having violated the rule of never communicating directly with Friends, Lucky sends them a message, and everyone joins Serval and saves the Bag. Despite the fact that Cerulean swallowed it (for the rest of the Friends, this means turning back into an animal form), the Bag, being originally a man, remains unharmed. However, Lucky, luring Cerulean into the sea, sacrifices himself and drowns, although later Bag finds his module of artificial intelligence . A month later, during a grand holiday in an amusement park, Raccoon explains how Bag became a man after the starry sand fell on her hat, previously owned by Mirai and on which her hair remained. After receiving another message from Mirai, the Bag sets sail in search of other people, and Serval and some other Friends decide to follow her. | ||

On the way, they meet the Duck , which leads them to the next place on the Kururu album, the monorail station. The duck distracts the emerging Cerulean, while the rest get to the monorail; at this moment, the mysterious Friend defeats Cerulean. | ||

Remembering something about the stadium, Kyururu, using improvised objects, teaches Dolphin and Leo new tricks, and everyone applauds them; they take the boat ashore. Meanwhile, giant armadillo Alma and giant pangolin Sen are following the Curur trail, reporting to a mysterious person. | ||

| When a failure is detected in the monorail, Lucky takes the Kururu and the rest through the area of South Maryiki to the next place drawn in the album. Then they meet the Earthwolf , who is waiting for the Woodpecker to help her find a new home. While the girls are waiting for rain in the cave, Kyururu makes a puzzle out of the picture in the album to have fun. After the rain ends, the Woodpecker shows everyone what was ' painted on the Kururu album: termite mats illuminated by fireflies. The wolf decides to stay living in a cave. At this moment, Alma and Sen are trying to kidnap Kyurura and take her to her client, but Caracal easily drives them away. The group heads to the jungle to try and find another person. | ||

At that moment, when the relay is approaching the denouement, another Cerulean appears in the form of a tractor.
