Garkusha, Nikolai Andreevich

Nikolai Andreevich Garkusha ( Ukrainian Mykola Andriyovich Garkusha ; September 8, 1914 , Settlement - July 8, 1991 ) - Ukrainian Soviet public-political and statesman, first minister of land reclamation and water management of the Ukrainian SSR (1952-1954). Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine (1966-1986). Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR of the 6-10th convocations (1965-1985).

Biography

After graduating from the Gorodishchensky Agricultural Technical School in 1932, he worked as an agricultural technician of a collective farm in the Lokhvitsky district of the Poltava region, as a local agronomist of the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky machine-tractor station of the Kiev region.

In 1934–1940 - a student of the preparatory courses, then a student of the Belotserkovsky Agricultural Institute of the Kiev region.

In 1940 he graduated from the agronomical faculty of the Belotserkovsky Agricultural Institute (now the Belotserkovsky National Agrarian University ). In 1940, he was a senior agronomist at the Cheremoshne state farm in the Zhytomyr region.

From October 1940 service in the Red Army . Member of the Great Patriotic War since 1942. He served as secretary of the Komsomol organization, responsible secretary of the party bureau of the 130th separate communications regiment of the 38th Army . Demobilized in 1946 with the rank of major .

In the years 1946-1950 - Director of teaching and experimental farm Belotserkovsky Agricultural Institute.

In 1950-1952 - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Belotserkovsky District Council of Workers' Deputies of the Kiev Region.

In 1952-1954 - 1st Secretary of the Boguslavsky Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, Kiev region.

In 1954 - August 1962 - Secretary of the Kiev Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

In 1962-1963 he was on a business trip, he worked as chief Soviet agricultural adviser of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba , then as an inspector of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

In 1963-1965 - Chairman of the State Production Committee on Irrigated Agriculture and Water Management of the Ukrainian SSR.

October 23, 1965 - December 24, 1984 - Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Management of the Ukrainian SSR.
