Gary Alekseevich Hakobyan ( July 26, 1968, Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ) - Soviet Professional boxer. Winner of many youth competitions, youth championships, international tournaments, bronze medalist of the USSR Boxing Championship 1988 and the USSR Boxing Championship 1987 . USSR master of sports of international class .

Biography

Born July 26, 1968 in Tbilisi . In 1972, parents moved to Krasnodar . On the recommendation of the USSR master of sports Valery Kamalyan, his uncle, in 1975 he began to attend boxing classes at the Sports School “Labor Reserves”. The first coach is Alexander Nikolaevich Kulchitsky. In different years he trained under V. M. Kirkorov and V. G. Kirkorov. In 1993, he graduated from the Krasnodar State Institute of Physical Culture. He became the first Kuban boxer to win the European Championship among juniors. [2] Later he became a two-time medalist of the USSR championship. Later, on July 28, 1990, he held his first fight in a professional ring against Sergei Gurevich, where Gari won on points. [3] [4]
