Art Regiment
- In the Pavlograd hussar regiment are the heroes of Leo Tolstoy’s novel “War and Peace” : Nikolai Rostov and captain Vasily Denisov . When describing the colonel - the commander of the Pavlograd hussars, who had lunch with the Rostovs in 1805, [4] Tolstoy admitted an anachronism, obviously conscious: "German" Alexander Rosen commanded the regiment since 1806, and in 1805 the regiment was commanded by "Georgians" - Panchulidzev 2 th. [five]
- The name of the regiment is often associated with Shurochka Azarova, the heroine of Alexander Gladkov ’s play “Once Upon a Time” and the film “ Hussar Ballad ”. In her play, lieutenant Dmitry Rzhevsky , dressed as a cornet’s uniform, says: “The uniform is on you, I see, Pavlogradsky! »In the film on Azarova, light sand-gray uniforms of the Sumy hussar regiment , and Rzhevsky himself wears the uniform of the Mariupol hussar regiment .
Regimental flats
The territory on which the regiment was stationed has been preserved in Pavlograd to this day. It is located between the streets of Central, Steppe Front and Kharkov. The barracks and the garrison Holy Intercession Church were partially preserved from the building. In the 80s of the 20th century, the Strategic Rocket Forces training center was located on the territory and premises of the Pavlograd Hussar Regiment, which is why the territory and the surviving buildings lost their original appearance. In these years, the Intercession Church housed a unit club and training facilities. After the collapse of the USSR, the military unit was disbanded, the church was transferred to the diocese, repaired and re-consecrated.
