Star Trek: Lower Decks is the upcoming animated series in the Star Trek universe [1] , created for CBS All Access by screenwriter and producer Mike McMahan as part of the franchise expansion. The series will take place on the USS Cerritos starship ("one of the not very important Starfleet ships") in 2380, after the events of the movie " Star Trek: Retribution " [2] . The premiere of the first season of the animated series is expected in 2020.

Content
Story
The series will focus on the “lower deck residents” - the four Starfleet Ensins: forever violating Mariner’s rules, acting solely on Boyler’s instructions, in love with Thandy’s Starfleet and passionate, but not very skilled engineer Rutherford.
