Champion of Peru 2000 Silver medalist of the championship of Peru 1994
As a member of the Peruvian national team, he participated in four chess competitions (1994, 2000, 2002, 2004).
Winner of international tournaments in Lima (2002) and Sitges (2009), open tournaments in Torredembarr (2007) and Canoveles (2016).
The father of the grandmaster K. Cruz and the international master H. Cruz .
Since the mid-2000s. together with his family he constantly lives in Spain.
