History
The creation of the BSU History Museum is rooted in 1924 when, with the participation of Professor M.V. Dovnar-Zapolsky , a museum of primitive culture and religion was opened. Initially, the museum was made up of copies of the originals in the Hermitage . In February 1940, the museum was converted into a historical and archaeological museum, the collection was replenished with original exhibits donated by the Hermitage. Its funds and collections were completely destroyed during the Second World War .
In December 1977, at the initiative of the rector of BSU V.M. Sikorsky, it was updated as a museum of the history of BSU. In 1981, the museum was reorganized and from July 3, 1995 became a university-wide.
