Information
The name “Some Kind of Monster” was coined by vocalist James Hetfield , who described Bob Rock ’s lyrics about Frankinshtein or “a kind of monster.” Thus, this name was also suitable for the 2004 documentary “ Some Kind of Monster, ” which featured a recording of St. Anger and the clutter surrounding her. Hetfield previously described the essence of Metallica - the burden of fame and life in general - as monstrous.
Composing and recording a song are shown in detail in the film of the same name. She was one of the first songs written for the album. It was later released as the last single and the last video clip from the album. The radio version is much shorter than the landscape one. The video contains footage from old Metallica concerts, as well as a song at the Metallica headquarters in San Francisco , which is fully included on DVD St. Anger In some regions (for example, in the USA), the single was equipped with a T-shirt with a cover image.
The documentary's DVDs have a couple of sections entitled “Tough Riff,” in which Hatfield shows one of the song’s main riffs to Kirk Hammett , who has trouble performing it.
