a bird's eye view of the Lopansky arrow
Lopanskaya Arrow is a historical site in Kharkov , the confluence of the Kharkov River in Lopan . Located between the Lopansky bridge and the "bridge of lovers."
There is a version [1] that the first settlement on the territory of Kharkov existed here.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, there has been a square park, but from the 1990s until reconstruction in 2010, the square park was desolate.
During the reconstruction of the Lopanskaya embankment on the Lopanskaya Spit, the following were reconstructed:
- Square Park "Strelka"
- two boat stations: “Swallow” (near the Lopansky bridge) and “Strelka” (near the suspension bridge)
- “Bridge of lovers” - officially opened on August 23, 2010 on the site of the old Fish pedestrian suspension bridge. There is a wedding tradition to leave newlyweds castles “for good luck” here. In the evening, the bridge is illuminated.
- Monument to Andrew the First-Called
