Scirus is a scientific search engine launched in 2001 [1] . Like CiteSeerX and Google Scholar , it focuses on scientific information. Unlike CiteSeerX, Scirus was configured to index not only computer science and information technology information, and not all results included full text. The system also sent the results of its scientific search to Scopus , an abstracted and cited database covering research results worldwide. Scirus was owned and operated by Elsevier . In 2013, the announcement of the removal of the site in 2014 appeared on the Scirus main page:
