Gindin Iosif Lvovich (1903 - 1983) - Soviet film director.
BIOGRAPHY
(December 21, 1903, Toropets - January 17, 1983, Leningrad, buried in the Seraphim cemetery)
Around 1921 he graduated from high school in Nevel.
In 1922-1924 he attended the Institute of Living Word in Petrograd (Leningrad)
In 1929? graduated from the Leningrad Photo Film College
In 1930, he came to work at the Sovkino film factory (now the Lenfilm film studio). The first project is “Golden Mountains”, directed by Sergey Yutkevich (assistant director).
He later became a director. He worked with Nadezhda Kosheverova ( "Cinderella" , 1946-1947 and "Tamer of the Tigers" , 1954-1955), Anatoly Granik ( "Alyosha Ptitsyn develops character" , 1952-1953), Jan Freed ("Baltic Glory", 1957), Sergey Mikaelian (“I am going to a thunderstorm”, 1964-1965), Konstantin Bromberg (“I was a real trumpeter”, 1973) and others. He was engaged in the selection of actors, the first to invite Alexander Demyanenko to the cinema , Natalia Selezneva.
He was the chairman of the trade union committee of the film studio Lenfilm.
In 1941, he refused the armor and went into the militia, fought on the Leningrad Front.
As a director, he worked on the films “Soviet Estonia” (together with Tomberg V... , 1950), “Adygea Autonomous Region” (1951), “ Girl and Crocodile ” (1956).

Wife - Vavilova Lyubov Ivanovna (September 27, 1910 - December 14, 1979).
Children - Sergey Iosifovich Gindin (February 21, 1939) and Tatyana Iosifovna Gindina (May 1, 1949).
